Olliver having a go...

Of course everyone wanted Olliver to try the ramp that he put so much effort in. After a lot of convincing he finally had a go... but he still needs a lot of practise if he wants to become a good skater which is the last aim he would want to reach, I know.

The Last Layer of Plywood and... Skate!!!

With our last ounce of strength we screwed the last layer of plywood on and were finally able to skate the ramp. The kids from Cerito de la Virgen were at first watching the big guys having a go. Everyone was eager to have a go as well.

Almost...

We are almost finished and the kids already start being creative with the leftovers of the project. The last layer of plywood is painted with a color that is weatherproof. Soon we will be finished...

Screwing and a lot of Support

We finally started screwing the second of three layers on and it already began to look like its going to be a good ramp. What we needed was weight to bend the plywood and we had a lot of volunteers and also Peruvian kids coming up to support us. James and Alicia (Australia), Hotton and Garen (USA), Morgan (USA), Alejandro and John (Finland), Joel and all the other kids from Cerito de la Virgen (PERU). It was a good day.

Progress

We bought all the materials, brought it up to the place and started putting it together. The whole frame is screwed and bits of pieces of the plywood. For the surface of the ramp we are going to use three layers of plywood (2*9mm and the upper layer is 6mm thick). We managed to get the rail in place with four screws holding it.
And again volunteers and locals were supporting us. We hope to finish the ramp in about 2 days.

Almost....

Buying all the materials

We bought all the wood in the store and here you can see how the rail is cutted.

Putting up the frame in the Volunteer House

After a lot of cutting we finally could put the whole frame together.
